I decided, since I'm on summer break, to go through my closet. It was getting to be a disaster in there, the kind of which meant that in the morning, if I tried to pull anything out, a hundred things fell over. So, I weeded through all the crap in there and found a drawing I'd given up on in 2008.
I recycled about a bin's worth of stuff, but I held onto the drawing so I'd have something to play around with. I emphasize playing around because I wanted this to be different than my last few drawings. Those were all about documentation (taking pictures of my progress for Works in Progress no one ever looks at), sitting at my desk for 8+ hours, and basically burning out on drawing for a while.
Instead, I just put in an hour every day, doing one part at a time, and said fuck it to the work in progress. Not a bad way to go, I must say. Finished it in a week instead of a couple months

I really like this. It is superbly drawn with great detail, tones and contrast.

What I like just as much is the un-glamorous pose of Kirsten, as if she's saying "I don't give a f..k".
